ABOUT

9.24

My name is Angela.

This space is devoted to Women’s Health and Christian Spiritual Formation, weaving together the outer physical and inner spiritual life. Much of the articles and research will also translate equally to men, children, and teens. However, as a woman nearing my 50s, I understand there are unique complexities to women’s health throughout their lives.

Let me tell you more about myself before describing this space.

Originally from the Midwest and later Florida, my family and I have lived in Mexico since 2013 in ministry. I am a wife of 26 years and mother of four children, ages 24 to seven.

I am also an artist and author with a BS in Biblical Studies. I am earning a certificate in Spiritual Formation and plan to continue to seminary to earn an MA in this area.

Christian Spiritual Formation is the “life-long Spirit-driven process of forming the inner world of the human self to become like the inner being of Jesus Himself.” *

Simultaneously, I am studying to earn credentials as a Master Herbalist (MH) and Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP). These provide extensive studies in herbalism, plant chemistry, and natural health protocols/naturopathic care.

Our souls and bodies are interconnected, and I want to help others see this more clearly, even as I pursue this connection personally. What I write about here often corresponds to my learning, helping me build my online “reference files.”

As I am sure for many of you, coming into a peaceful state of health in my inner and outer world has been an ongoing journey for me. How we steward our whole health as women can increase or decrease peace in our lives. That difference is profound.

In English, the word “peace” conjures up a passive picture, showing an absence of any disturbances or hostilities or a personality free from internal and external strife. This is not humanly possible.

However, the Hebrew (and biblical) concept of peace is more significant than that and means “to be complete” or “to be sound.” It represents wholeness amid anything and everything, calmness, and a holy simplicity of mind. Yes, it means attentiveness to one’s wonderfully created physical body and soul with diligence to thrive in transformative good health.

May the information gathered in this small space serve you well and equip you to live in better health, both in body and soul.
